Monument to Master Atsutaka
In the garden of Chihshuean in Okugawada, there is a monument facing west between two tombstones. This is a monument of poetry by Atsutaka titled "Moon Front Noryou".
In the center of the surface is the inscription "Tsuki-mae Noryou" and around the inscription in a circle are the following words

This is the same style as the monument "Gyokoji no Yuki" (Snow on the Road), which is located on the east side of the bell tower in the precincts of Myooin Temple. The following is a re-writing of this poem to make it easier to read.
As the weather clears up, I see the coolness in the valley of the garden.

On the reverse side of this poem is written "Atsuko-o".
His real name was Seta Toichiro Atsutaka, and he was well known in his hometown as a scholar of Chinese literature. He was born in the first year of Bunsei (1818) and died on January 24, 1886 at the age of 69.
He was born in 1818 and died on January 24, 1886 at the age of 69. Two of them are located in Honmachi (the other one is in Asakusa, Tokyo), and as they are rare and valuable, it is important to preserve them as valuable cultural assets.
The monument is now preserved on the north side of the site, while the Chishu-an has been torn down to make way for the parking lot of the Myooin Temple.
