Choukou-ji Temple,
The main deity of the temple is Amitabha Buddha, and the number of parishioners is about 280.
Shiokoji Temple, also called Jakkosan, is said to have been founded by Yugen during the Keicho period (1596-1614) as a branch temple of the Shinshu Buddhist temple, but the date of its establishment is not clear.
In the past, Shiokoji was famous for its tsurigane cherry blossoms, but these have now withered and no longer exist. The precincts of the temple are approximately 13 square meters in area, and the main hall, storehouse and other buildings are 6.1 square meters in area. The date of construction is unknown, but it is said to have been completed during the time of the first abbot, Yugen.
The ninth abbot of the temple, Kanzui, was a man of great learning, and was famous as a student of the great local scholar, Haku Kenjo Yoshikawa. He is also said to have been a monk who made efforts in social work, such as building farm roads and expanding roads.
