Inoue Castle
There is an Inoue tribe on the plateau at the foot of Takagoe Mountain, where the Inoue Castle was located. From the topography of the area, it seems that the castle was built in the mountain castle style, considering the steepness of the terrain.
Kawada Inouye used to be the domain of the Ogasawara clan, but later became the domain of Hosokawa Yoriyu, and when Hosokawa Mototsune disobeyed his deputy, Tani, in Kyoto, he had Tsunama Doi killed, and the Doi clan moved in.
In the mountains surrounding Inoue Castle, there were watchtowers such as Jounomaru (southwest of the castle), Hananomaru (east of the castle), and Inonomaru (east of Hananomaru). However, the willow well has now dried up, but the water from the water well still remains as a shallow spring.
The Doi clan is not known in detail, but it is thought to have been quite powerful, holding Kawada, Kawadayama, and Hai-mura. Even today, names such as Kanayama-koji and Ogawa-koji remain, indicating that the castle town was prosperous.
